Marvel artist Andy Park has added to the already overwhelming hype surrounding the upcoming MCU sequel Thor: Love and Thunder, describing the continuing adventures of Chris Hemsworth’s Godly superhero as “pushing the boundaries of what's comfortable,” while doing things that audiences will not expect. What this means specifically is somewhat unclear, but considering that Thor: Love and Thunder will reunite director Taika Waititi with star Chris Hemsworth and add Oscar winner Christian Bale to the fray, it’s no wonder that the Marvel outing is so impressive.

"There's a reason why there's been over a decade of successful movies and just why this franchise is growing. So Thor: Love and Thunder falls right into that where it's just pushing the boundaries of what's comfortable and what should be expected. You'll be surprised and push these characters and the visuals go along with that. I think Taika said it in some interview where he's just like, he's surprised that he's even, he shouldn't be allowed to make a movie like this. And I get it.”

Waititi’s Thor: Ragnarok already took Thor into bizarrely brilliant places creatively, and we should expect nothing less of Thor: Love and Thunder. Of course, expecting the unexpected would mean that the unexpected is expected...but let’s try not to overthink it. Park continued, describing the Thor outing as “crazy wild,” which again suggests that Waititi has been let off the leash all over again.

“This movie is crazy wild. It's so much fun. And I simply cannot wait for everyone to see it. Because it was so much fun to work on and design so many characters and do keyframes for. It's going to be a good one. It's going to be fun."

Park’s description of Thor: Love and Thunder echoes the words of director Taika Waititi, who back in July called the movie “the craziest film I've ever done,” before admitting that it should not make sense. “If you wrote down all the elements of this film, it shouldn't make sense. It's almost like it shouldn't be made,” he said.

Starring Tessa Thompson, Chris Pratt, Jaimie Alexander, Pom Klementieff, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Sean Gunn, Jeff Goldblum, and Vin Diesel alongside Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, and Christian Bale, plot details for Thor: Love and Thunder remain largely under wraps. One major element that has been revealed however surrounds Natalie Portman’s return as Jane Foster, with the actress revealing that the role will be much more superheroic than ever before. "There's still the other Thor - the original Thor." Portman has said previously, confirming that she will indeed suit up as The Mighty Thor, and even revealing that she will wield the God of Thunder's coveted hammer, Mjölnir, in the movie with the actress proclaiming proudly, "I do, I do," in response to being asked whether Foster gets to take the weapon as her own.

Christian Bale will also enter the Marvel Cinematic Universe as the villainous Gorr the God Butcher, an extra-terrestrial born on a planet with no name who, after living a tragic life, bonds with a dark and powerful sword and is transformed into an amorphous mass of living darkness, his hatred of the gods leading him on a revenge mission across time and space. Thor: Love and Thunder is scheduled to be released in the United States on July 8, 2022, as part of Phase Four of the MCU. This comes to us from Screen Rant.
