Marvel has a lot in store for us in Phase 3, which officially kicked off earlier this year with Captain America: Civil War. Of all the potentially great movies in store for the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Phase 3, Thor: Ragnarok may wind up being one of the best. Even though it isn't official, this new fan trailer shows off some of the massive potential that lies ahead for the third installment of the Thor franchise.

The folks over at We Got This Covered recently uploaded the fan-made trailer for Thor: Ragnarok to their YouTube channel. Absolutely no footage has been released from the movie to the general public from the movie, but fans who were in attendance during Marvel's Hall H panel at San Diego Comic-Con were treated to an early look. So, this trailer was forced to use footage from other Marvel movies as well as some other random sci-fi and fantasy movies. However, it is pretty convincing.

The trailer showcases the mysterious and devilish villain Hela, who is being played by Oscar winner Cate Blanchett. Since she hasn't appeared in an MCU movie yet, the trailer had to pull some footage from her other movies to make it work, but it is pretty effective. It also teases another uneasy alliance between Thor and Loki, as well as some Hulk action in space. There weren't any teases to Jeff Goldblum as Grandmaster or Karl Urban as Skurge, but the very end of the trailer did tease some of the Planet Hulk action we have been promised.

Most MCU fans absolutely love Chris Hemsworth as the God of Thunder in the Marvel movies, but so far his solo outings have left something to be desired. For Thor: Ragnarok, Kevin Feige and Co. have added a ton of top-notch talent this time around as well as a new director. They will also be loosely adapting some very beloved Marvel Comics source material in the form of Planet Hulk, so we have a lot of reason to believe this movie could easily be the best in the Thor franchise. As for when we might actually see a real trailer for Thor: Ragnarok? It probably won't be anytime soon, given that the movie still isn't coming out for more than a year. Perhaps it will be attached to Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, which comes out on May 5, 2017.

Thor: Ragnarok is currently being filmed under the direction of Taika Waititi, who directed What We Do in the Shadows as well as Hunt for the Wilderpeople. The movie sees the return of many familiar faces, such as Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Anthony Hopkins as Odin and Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/Hulk. Also returning are Tadanobu Asano, Zachary Levi and Ray Stevenson as The Warriors Three. Thor: Ragnarok is set for release on November 3, 2017.
