Heading downunder to Queensland, Thor: Ragnarok enters its 20th day of production shooting in Australia after returning from Comic-Con this past weekend. While none of the stars showed up to celebrate the impending release at the epic event, Marvel's Kevin Feige did arrive with a fun mockumentary in hand, directed by Taika Waititi, who is bringing this latest Marvel Phase 3 sequel to the big screen. Today, Waititi shared a photo from his fun Con-only video. But perhaps even cooler than that, star Tessa Thompson showed off a photo of her Valkyrie Sword. She says this about the shoot on Instagram.
"Day 18 update: I have a lot of bruises. And suddenly abs from laughing so much. And I never want to not have a sword again. @thormovie"
As you can see below, Taika Waititi, known for directing comedies What We Do in the Shadows and Hunt for the Wilderpeople, shared a crude drawing of Thanos. It comes from his Ragnarok sketch, which helped explain what Thor was up to during the events depicted in Captain America: Civil War. The God of Thunder has been investigation the big bad villain known as Thanos, and has thus deducted that the man in the floating chair is purple, has a magic glove and doesn't like standing up. That should offer you a sense of the humor that will be on display in Thor 3.
Along with the Scooby-Doo like comedy bit, Waititi did bring a behind-the-scenes video from Ragnarok to Comic-Con, which didn't contain too much footage from the actual movie itself, since it just started shooting earlier this month. The video in question did contain some actual concept art. Fans in attendance got to see a sneak peek of Hulk in his gladiator armor for the first time, with other pieces of concept art showing off Hela (Cate Blanchett) and the fiery demon Surtur from the realm of Muspelheim.
There were no glimpses of Skurge (Karl Urban), Grandmaster (Jeff Goldblum) and Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) at the show, though, which disappointed some. But as we've seen over the past couple of weeks, this particular production is not being shy. And it appears that we'll get production updates every couple of days, showing off something from the set. We've already seen Chris Hemsworth and his personal roller coaster, Mark Ruffalo in his motion-capture outfit, and a few pictures of the cosmic set. Just earlier this week, Karl Urban shared his new look as Skurge.
While we wait for the next big teaser to drop, take a look at Valkyrie's sword. She is quite lethal with it, and also wields a weapon known as the Dragonfang, which is made from the tooth of a extra-dimensional dragon. She is said to match any and all of Asgard's greatest warriors, and we should see her in some pretty epic battles when it comes to Thor Ragnarok. Thor: Ragnarok is coming to theaters everywhere November 3, 2017.
