Vinyl: According to The Hollywood Reporter, Thora Birch is teaming with Jena Malone to star in the indie rock 'n' roll feature Vinyl. Richard Zelniker is directing the project from his own script.

The film, which is expected to begin lensing in the first quarter of next year in Los Angeles, centers on the women behind a male rock 'n' roll band that is on the verge of breakout success. Birch will play the wife of the lead singer, with Malone taking the character of a naive girl from the good side of the tracks who winds up with a lot of rock 'n' roll spirit in the end.

Other casting is expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
