Yesterday we reported that director Tim Burton was set to make a new, 3D version of The Addams Family and now it seems Burton has denied any involvement with the project. MTV Movies Blog reached out to Burton's camp for clarification on the story and it seems it's just not true.

MTV immediately reached out to Burton's people for comment, and they've responded with some clarification after speaking with the filmmaker himself. "There is no truth to the story. Tim has not lined up any of his upcoming projects." Pay extra attention to that second sentence.

We also /tim-burton-to-take-on-maleficent-next/reported back in January that Burton could possibly direct a new film based off the Sleeping Beauty villain Maleficent, with a new film told from her point of view, and we also reported a few weeks ago that Burton would produce Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter with his fellow 9 producer Timur Bekmambetov. It isn't quite clear where either of these projects are in development.
