After taking on Wonderland, director Tim Burton is getting back to work with another 3D remake. Deadline New York is reporting that Burton will direct a 3D stop-motion version of The Addams Family

It was said that the project will be unrelated to the previous The Addams Family film or The Addams Family TV show. The project will go back to the roots of the series, the original cartoon drawings of Charles Addams, which used to be a fixture in The New Yorker magazine.

It was said that a writer would be hired in the near future and that the 3D/stop-motion style of the film would be similar to his next film, Frankenweenie, that is due out next year. It was also said that the film would display the "sharper wit" that the original drawings featured, but couldn't be used in the 1960s TV series.
