Tim Robbins has inked a deal to direct City of Lies. The project is an adaptation of a short story titled "Wenceslas Square" written by Arthur Phillips. Phillip Noyce was previously directing.

The story centers on two spies who cross paths and fall in love during two separate missions. Captain America: The First Avenger scribes Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely are adapting the story for the big screen. The short story aired on the radio during a episode of This American Life last summer.

Tim Robbins is best known for his work as an actor, but he helmed Dead Man Walking in the 90s and most recently directed a few episodes of HBO's Treme.

No production schedule has been released for this project.
