According to Ain't It Cool News, Timothy Olyphant has been chosen to play the lead role in Hitman, an adaptation of the Eidos videogame.
Vin Diesel was attached to the film as star.
The film has been greenlit from 20th Century Fox to start production soon and Skip Woods (Starfish) is writing the screenplay.
Luc Besson will co-produce along with Chuck Gordon, Adrian Askarieh and Daniel Alter, and the film should be in theaters as early as next fall.
Timothy Olyphant most recently played Seth Bullock in the HBO series Deadwood and will be seen next summer along with Bruce Willis in Live Free or Die Hard.
