Universal Pictures has landed the distribution rights for Tomas Alfredson's spy drama Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy. The studio is planning on releasing the thriller in either November or December, although a specific release date wasn't given.

Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy, an adaptation of the novel by John le Carré, centers on George Smiley (Gary Oldman), a retired spy who gets pulled back into action to find a Russian double agent inside MI6. Colin Firth, Tom Hardy, and Ralph Fiennes also co-star.

Tomas Alfredson (Let the Right One in) directed the picture, which is currently in post-production, from a script by Peter Straughan, who adapted John le Carré's novel of the same name. Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner produced the drama along with Robyn Slovo.
