Phil Tippett and Tippett Studios have been responsible for bringing many superheroes, mutants and monsters to life, and now they will be lending their skills to helping out Marvel Comic's most popular mutant, Wolverine. According to the news listed on the studio's website, Tippett Studios is currently working on special effects for X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

Tippett Studios is no stranger to working on science-fiction films, including those featuring superheroes. The studio's credits include Howard the Duck, Robocop, Starship Troopers, Blade 2, The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, Constantine, Hellboy, Catwoman and Cloverfield.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine explores Wolverine's early days, before joining the X-Men. The film will cover Logan's early life, and his involvement with the mysterious Weapon X program. The film stars Hugh Jackman, Liev Schreiber, Dominic Monaghan, Danny Huston, Ryan Reynolds, Taylor Kitsch, will.i.am, Daniel Henney, and Lynn Collins. X-Men Origins: Wolverine is due to arrive in theatres in 2009.
