Some new light has been shed on Dick Grayson's controversial stance on Batman in the new clip from Titans. Over the summer, Grayson, aka Nightwing, said "F*ck Batman" in a trailer for the gritty take on the Teen Titans, leading many DC fans to scratch their heads and wonder just why exactly the first Robin would feel that way. However, in the latest clip from the show, Jason Todd, the new Robin, meets Grayson for the first time and reveals that he has a completely different relationship with Bruce Wayne, which causes some immediate jealousy.

Jason Todd is pretty happy about his new gig, noting that it's "pretty dope" to Dick Grayson. Todd is apparently "kickin' asses, being famous," and more importantly, he claims that he is allowed to drive the Batmobile. Grayson's ears perk up at that last comment as he asks, "he lets you drive the Batmobile?" It appears that the old and new Robins have had pretty different experiences working with the Dark Knight so far.

Brenton Thwaites plays Dick Grayson in Titans and the actor recently revealed that Jason Todd took Grayson's old job after he left, though he believed that there was no replacement. However, when Todd comes to his rescue during a moment of weakness, Grayson learns the truth and it begins to sting pretty hard. Grayson becomes angry, jealous, frustrated, a remorseful, according to Thwaites. It's definitely a trip for the both of them, but it's underplayed in the latest clip from the show.

Brenton Thwaites also revealed that Dick Grayson's motivations for crime fighting have changed over the years and says that he's trying to take Jason Todd aside to show him the differences. Grayson left his gig with Batman because of the "conflict and tension" over a difference in morals. But, Todd isn't open to it, and is content with his new position, though maybe for the wrong reasons. It's safe to assume that Titans will show the two Robins come to an understanding as the series progresses. Executive producer Geoff Johns calls their meeting "delightful," which is an interesting way of looking at it, especially considering the circumstances.

It will be interesting to see how Titans decides to handle the future of Jason Todd. As far as Dick Grayson, he's going out of his way to distance himself from his violent work with Batman and is focusing on being a detective. Whatever the case may be, both versions of Robin are going to have their own "daddy issues" when it comes to their different experiences working under the Dark Knight. The two may have completely different experiences to begin with, but that could all change in an instant.
