According to The Hollywood Reporter, TMU Pictures getting in league with War Birds.

The original story for the film was written by Michael Chait who will also produce and direct. War Birds was written by Josh Staman and Bryan Binder. J. Todd Harris (Bottle Shock) and screenwriter Richard Jefferies (Tron Legacy) are going to polish and produce the script.

The story centers on an Air Force veteran who becomes a reckless airshow re-enactment pilot. He gets sucked into the underground culture of illegal, real-life aerial combat. The film will shoot this summer in Michigan and will utilize "all real airplanes and aerial sequences, including authentic P-51 Mustangs, P-38 Lightnings, F4U Corsairs and a B-17 Flying Fortress as well as modern military helicopters and jets."

"I love big, exciting, action-adventure movies, especially when they are shot live, in camera," Chait stated. "Growing up the son of an artist and a pilot, I've always worked the drama and production value of aviation into my movies. That's still the best way to truly immerse an an audience in the experience."
