Marvel fans are still feeling the joy of seeing that epic uniting of the Spider-Men in the December release of Spider-Man: No Way Home. Showing that the rumors had been true all along, Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield both appeared in the film as their own respective Peter Parkers to team up with the MCU's Tom Holland. It might have been Hollywood's worst-kept secret, but the moment was still explosive when it finally happened nevertheless.

Now that the cat is out of the bag, the cast members have been able to speak more openly about their involvement in the film. Per Deadline, the three Spidey actors had a chat about No Way Home, and Maguire opened up about his return to the red-and-blue tights. For his part, the outfit felt a bit uncomfortable to slip back into it, but once he was back in the Spider-suit, he found himself humbled and grateful for the opportunity to revisit the character.

"It was uncomfortable getting it on and then it's a goof, and then it also has a sort of a power in a sense because it brings me back into that character. It really does, there's so much affinity for this character, it means so much to so many people, that once the goofiness of of being in lycra or spandex goes away you're like 'Oh wow. This is cool. This is a responsibility but a blessing, like something that I get to do that I'm grateful for.' Honestly being with these guys it really was just a much, much richer experience than I anticipated or that I could really even express in words... I know that's not the question about the suit but the suit is it's just to get to be there with these guys in their suits and whether it was like dancing around or playing around in scenes and improving or feeling that kind of sense of service to each other and the character being in service to humanity it really gives a certain perspective"

The actor also addressed how going through his experience with the other Spidey actors made his No Way Home return that much better. Having the common link of all three of them having played Peter Parker gave them an instant bond, even to the point where Maguire felt "super safe." As he really got into the swing of things, the return just felt more and more right to the actor.

"I just felt super safe and like we were all on the same team and all in support of each other and it just brought out this...I don't know how to put it other than just like this really loving, fun creative experience. I was just like sitting in gratitude every day which is not always the case when you're working on something even just from the standpoint of trying to figure out what you're doing and it wasn't without its challenges but it all just unfolded the way it needed to. It had a sense of this kind of destiny to it as well so I guess the suit was the doorway to that."

It's unclear if this was a one-and-done return for Tobey Maguire or if his Spider-Man will appear in other MCU projects, but there are rumors of another cameo in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. In any case, you can catch his big return in Spider-Man: No Way Home, still playing in many movie theaters.
