While no official talks have taken place yet, Warner Bros. is eyeing Tom Cruise to star in their musical project A Star Is Born for director Clint Eastwood. Tom Cruise will next be seen in Warner Bros.' most recent musical, Rock of Ages, opening in theaters June 15.

We reported back in August that production has been delayed on A Star Is Born, due to star Beyoncé Knowles' pregnancy. This could work to Tom Cruise's favor though, since he begins production on Horizons next week, and then moves to We Mortals Are directly after that.

It is said that Tom Cruise is showing some interest in A Star Is Born, since it would be his first time working with Clint Eastwood. If he does sign on, Tom Cruise will play an aging musician who falls for a young songstress (Beyoncé Knowles) as he tries to make her a star. Actors such as Christian Bale, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Hugh Jackman were once considered for the part. It isn't known when production will start on A Star Is Born.
