Terry George, best known for directing Hotel Rwanda, is once again jumping behind the camera for Columbia Pictures' Edwin A. Salt. According to Variety, the film is being prepped as a starring vehicle for actor Tom Cruise.

The script, written by Equilibrium director Kurt Wimmer, revolves around Salt, a CIA officer who is accused of being a Russian sleeper spy. Salt must escape capture and prove his innocence. He also sets out to reunite with his estranged family.

There was no word on when the project would go into production. Cruise is currently at work on the Bryan Singer film Valkyrie.
