Actor Tom Hanks will be prepping for his first directorial effort in 14 years. According to Deadline Hollywood Daily, Hanks will be starring in and directing Larry Crowne.

The film will be the first Hanks will be directing since the 1996 music-driven film That Thing You Do. Hanks also wrote the film and will star as the title character alongside Julie Roberts. Not much was known about the film's plot, but it was said that the film centers on Hanks' Crowne, a man who needs to find a new career and reinvent himself.

It was said that the film will start shooting this coming April in Los Angeles.
