Actor Tom Hardy will next be seen as the villain Bane in director Christopher Nolan's highly-anticipated Batman finale The Dark Knight Rises, due in theaters July 20. The actor revealed on a U.K. radio program that he would love to star as James Bond, but only if he could re-team with Christopher Nolan. Here's what Tom Hardy had to say below.

"I'd love to play Bond with Chris Nolan (as a) director or something, it would be awesome."

Of course, the 007 position has been filled for the past few years by Daniel Craig, who is currently shooting the next James Bond adventure, Skyfall, set for release November 9. We also reported back in December that EON Productions and Daniel Craig were working out a deal to bring the actor back as James Bond in five more movies, which would make him the longest-tenured actor to play the iconic spy character.

Tom Hardy was last seen on the big screen in This Means War, where he portrayed a spy named Tuck.
