A new director has taken over for a film that has been languishing in development for the past few years. Deadline London is reporting that Tom Harper will direct Lost for Words.

The film once had names like Tom Cruise and Hugh Grant attached to star at one time with Susanne Bier attached to direct as well. Now it was said that they were looking at a younger cast for the film. Richard Curtis wrote the script for the film along with his younger brother Jamie Curtis.

The story follows an American movie star who is sought after to star in a film by a Chinese director and, after he flirts with the director's translator, he ends up falling for the director.

"We are very excited about taking this back to roots and getting an exciting young director and British cast for a modestly budgeted Richard Curtis and WT romantic comedy," said Working Title Films co-chairman Tim Bevan.
