Tom Holland is one of the many actors who has had the chance to become Spider-Man on the big screen. In fact, he not only became the Peter Parker of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, he also managed to bet the first to cross over with the multiverse in live action and have Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield return to fight alongside him in his most recent film, Spider-Man: No Way Home.

However, despite the great love that fans have for the three actors, and especially Tobey for being the first one to bring the character to life on the big screen, it seems that for Holland it is relative newcomer Miles Morales that takes the crown.

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is not only the favorite of a large part of the character's fandom, but also that of a few celebrities including the current MCU's Spider-Man. In an interview with The Associated Press, Tom Holland confessed that the first installment of the Spider-Verse saga is his favorite and expressed his excitement for the second:

“I think the first Spider-Verse movie is the best Spider-Man movie that has ever been made. I am so proud of everyone involved. Amy Pascal is like my mom. I was supposed to go with her as her date. I couldn't go because I'm here working. But I'm incredibly proud of them. I'm excited for the second one. I'm sure it will live up to every expectation, and I can't wait to see it.”

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse was not only Morales' definitive introduction to the world of cinema, it also marked a new era for animation and told a very different story from those made about the hero up to that time, Sony Pictures seeks to go even further with the sequel.

In the long-awaited sequel, Miles is already in control of his power and actively working as the arachnid hero from Brooklyn, while trying to balance his life as Spider-Man and as a teenager, a task that seems to be more difficult than expected.

When he reunites with Gwen, she takes him to the Spider-Verse, a place where a large group of Spider-People from across the multiverse are getting together to save the multiple realities. Miles wants to join, since it seems to be a place where he can feel understood, but the leader won’t let him.

Miguel O’Hara has created that group in order to stop The Spot, a terrible villain that’s causing trouble to the whole multiverse and he’s doing it from Miles’ world. O’Hara believes the only way to save all of the realities is to destroy the one where Miles comes from, but the young Spider-Man won’t let that happen.

Miles will have to face not only The Spot, but the whole Spider-People team in order to save the people he loves and everything he knows.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will lead to Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, the last episode of the trilogy that will arrive in theaters in March 2024, but it could get delayed just like the second movie did.
