Despite the record-breaking success of Spider-Man: No Way Home, it is currently unknown what the future holds for Tom Holland’s iteration of the beloved Marvel character. Though it is expected that the actor will reprise the role for more following the conclusion of Spider-Man: No Way Home, Holland has given an honest answer regarding his return. Speaking with Deadline's Pete Hammond via the official Spider-Man YouTube channel, the actor revealed that he does not know anything about a potential Spider-Man 4 and that, ultimately, he would be happy to “swing off into the sunset.”

"The truthful answer, and I've done a whole press tour where all I do is lie. The truth is, and you're not going to like the truth, I don't know the answer to that question. This film for me was as special as an experience could ever be. Sharing the screen with these guys. Playing Spider-Man could be quite an alienating experience because, you know, we're the only three blokes who have done it. So, to share that with you two, it's been such a wonderful experience, of which I have such amazing memories. I don't know, there's part of me that feels like it's the perfect time to jump off the building and swing off into the sunset and let the next lucky young kid come in to don the suit, or I might, I don't know, buy a new house and need a paycheck and I'll be back."

Thanks to the multiversal madness, inclusion of various fan-favorite characters from Spider-Man's past, and a deep understanding of what has made the Marvel hero so popular for all these years, Spider-Man: No Way Home has seen huge financial and critical success. So, it’s no wonder that Tom Holland would be more than happy for Spider-Man: No Way Home to be his swansong (or swing-song, if you prefer).

Following a hugely crowd-pleasing final battle featuring three variations of Spider-Man, Spider-Man: No Way Home finishes on an incredibly interesting note, bringing Tom Holland’s Peter Parker to a much more familiar place. Broke, alone, and now lacking all the Tony Stark-tech that has kept him afloat all this time, writers Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers recently discussed how they transformed the “Home” trilogy into a three-movie origin story.

"If it ends here, great,” the writing duo said. “If this is the end of this, if this is all about, 'Oh, this was all ...' If you look backward and go, 'This was an origin story that took place over three stories to get this Peter Parker to this place where he's stripped-down, anonymous, has no billionaire benefactor, has been through the sacrifice of what it really means to have this power and what that responsibility that goes along with that is, and is now having to look for how to pay rent.' I think that would be really satisfying, I think that'd be really cool."

Do you want to see more from Tom Holland’s Spider-Man? Spider-Man: No Way Home hit theaters in December last year, and is now the sixth-highest-grossing movie of all time, setting several box office records along the way.
