Tom Holland will be seen in his third solo movie as the MCU's Spidey when Spider-Man: No Way Home finally drops in theaters, delivering what looks to be the most ambitious superhero movie yet. Based on previous comments from Holland and the No Way Home team, it's clear that this third movie is also seen as the end of the story first established in Homecoming. That doesn't necessarily mean we won't see Holland back in the role, but his future as of now isn't entirely clear.

If you ask Holland himself, you're not going to get an answer that clarifies things any better. The actor is pretty much in the dark on where exactly his Peter will be going from here. In a recent interview with Fandom, Holland admits that he has his own concept in mind for a fourth Spider-Man movie which he's pitched to Marvel and Sony, though there's no indication yet that they'll be using his pitch. Of course, he can't divulge any details about that pitch he has, so as not to avoid what might happen in No Way Home.

"The truthful answer is I don’t know. There is one idea that I have, that I have pitched to the studio — but by telling you that idea I’d be ruining this movie so I’m going to have to keep that one for myself. You know, there is a future for Spider-Man, whether it's- I'm a part of it, I don't know. You know, it's been an incredible journey so far, and if it's time for me to hang up the cape and let the next person take over, I would do that proudly... knowing that I've achieved everything I wanted to."

Perhaps it's best to just see what happens in Spider-Man: No Way Home before we spend too much time speculating what could be coming next for Tom Holland's Peter Parker. There's no telling how that movie is going to end, but we do know that Peter is going to be facing his biggest challenge yet when he's targeted by Spidey-hating villains from throughout the multiverse. He's going to be fighting villains like Alfred Molina's Doc Ock, Jamie Foxx's Electro, Willem Dafoe's Green Goblin, Thomas Haden Church's Sandman, and more. What we are still waiting to see is if he'll be joined by Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield as their respective Spider-Men, but that's been the rumor for a long time and it's what most people are expecting.

Recently, Holland also revealed the alternate plan for this third Spider-Man movie if the multiverse gimmick didn't work out. Director Jon Watts had been setting his sights on Kraven the Hunter, potentially bringing in that villain to face Holland's Spidey on the big screen. That seems to be different from this other pitch Holland has in mind for a fourth movie. There's also a separate Kraven the Hunter movie in the works with Aaron Taylor-Johnson attached to star.

Spider-Man: No Way Home will be released exclusively in movie theaters on Dec. 17, 2021. This news comes to us from Fandom.
