Tom Lipinski has boarded Jason Reitman's upcoming drama Labor Day, to play a young Frank Chambers.

The film is a adaptation of a Joyce Maynard novel and follows Frank Chambers (Josh Brolin), an escaped convict who seeks shelter with a depressed single mom (Kate Winslet) and her teen son over Labor Day weekend.

The actor will appear in flashbacks as young Frank, who returns from Vietnam and promptly marries his hometown sweetheart, only to find that she's no longer the innocent teenage girl he left behind.

Jason Reitman is directing, writing, and producing with Helen Estabrook from his Right of Way Films. Lianne Halfon and Russell Smith are producing for Mr. Mudd.

Josh Brolin most recently played a young Tommy Lee Jones in Men in Black III.
