Tommy Lee Jones will be a quadruple threat on his new project. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the actor will write, direct, produce and star in an adaptation Islands in the Stream. The film will be an adaptation of Ernest Hemmingway's posthumously published novel.

Morgan Freeman and John Goodman are in negotiations to join the film. The story centers around a painter who broke off from society before, during and after World War II. The full novel was published in 1970, after Hemmingway's death, but while he was still alive, Hemmingway turned a portion of this book into the novella The Old Man and the Sea.

The film has been budgeted at around $30 million and the film will shoot in Puerto Rico, although a production start is not expected until next March.
