NBC's The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon has canceled all of its tapings for this week, following the death of host Jimmy Fallon's mother, Gloria Fallon, over the weekend. Jimmy Fallon also cancelled the Friday, November 3 taping to be with his mother in the hospital for what was said to be a "brief illness," although no cause of death has been given. Here's what an unidentified family spokesperson had to say in a statement, confirming Gloria Fallon's death, at 68 years of age.

"Jimmy Fallon's mother, Gloria, died peacefully on Saturday. Jimmy was at his mother's bedside, along with her loved ones, when she passed away at NYU Langone Medical Center in NYC. Our prayers go out to Jimmy and his family as they go through this tough time."

Jimmy Fallon's mother Gloria and his father James Fallon Sr. were in the audience for The Tonight Snow Starring Jimmy Fallon premiere, when their son kicked off his run on the late-night talk show in February 2014. While Jimmy Fallon's mother wasn't a regular on-screen presence, the host would often bring up his parents on the show. Here's what an NBC spokesperson had to say in a statement, offering their condolences to Jimmy Fallon for his loss.

"On behalf of everyone at NBC, we extend our deepest condolences to Jimmy and all his family at this time of enormous loss. Our hearts go out to Jimmy and everyone else whose lives were so touched by Gloria Fallon's love, kindness and support."

NBC also announced the repeat episodes that will air in place of the originals which were slated for this week. Tonight's episode will feature Sarah Silverman, the cast of Riverdale, and musical guest Miley Cyrus, which originally aired on October 3, 2017. Tuesday's episode will feature Ricky Gervais, Lin-Manuel Miranda and musical guest Sabrina Carpenter, which originally aired on October 24, 2017. Wednesday's episode features Jessica Alba, JB Smoove and Kevin Delaney, which originally aired on October 25, 2017. Thursday's episode features Gal Gadot, Desus & Mero, with musical guests Miley Cyrus and Billy Ray Cyrus, which originally aired on October 5. The week comes to a close on Friday with an episode featuring Taraji P. Henson, Miley Cyrus and musical guest Billy Joel and Miley, which originally aired on October 6, 2017.

Jimmy Fallon discussed his happy childhood during a 2004 profile in New York Magazine, where he described his mother as, "a total square," adding that she, "wasn't allowed to leave her stoop in Brooklyn." He also added that she became, "a nun for about a month," but she left, stating that she "didn't get the calling." No details have been given regarding memorial services for Jimmy Fallon's mother. Jimmy Fallon took over the show from Jay Leno in February 2014, and was rewarded with a new contract in the summer of 2015, which extended his time as Tonight Show host to the year 2021.
