Ridley and Tony Scott's company, Scott Free Productions, have made a deal to produce the new film, The Killing Sea for Fox 2000.

The movie is based on Richard Lewis' upcoming novel concerns an Indonesian boy and an American girl brought together in the aftermath of the 2004 tsunami. Variety has announced Ridley Scott is eyeing the director's chair.

The book will be published by Simon & Schuster in December; no production date has been set for The Killing Sea.
