Top Gun: Special Collector's Edition Flies Up to Blu-Ray on July 29th

Here are some early details for this new classic BD release.

You can watch all your favorite 80s flyboys in 1080p this July. Top Gun is coming back to Blu-Ray on July 29. The BD disc was released last October by Paramount before it switched to HD DVD exclusively. We don't have any pricing details or updated cover art for this new release, but we'll update this story as soon as we get more information. The film stars Tom Cruise, Kelly McGillis, Val Kilmer, Anthony Edwards and Meg Ryan.

Top Gun takes a look at the danger and excitement that awaits every pilot at the Navy's prestigious fighter weapons school. Tom Cruise is superb as Pete Maverick Mitchell, a daring young flyer who's out to become the best of the best. And Kelly McGillis sizzles as the civilian instructor who teaches Maverick a few things you can't learn in a classroom.
