Troma Entertainment's Lloyd Kaufman and Michael Herz are fully behind the upcoming remake of their 1984 cult hit The Toxic Avenger, but in an interesting twist, they are shooting a true sequel at the moment which they hope will coincide with the remake's release.

Lloyd Kaufman is directing for the first time since 2006's Poultrygeist, bringing the environmentally conscious superhero Toxie back to the big screen for his fifth outing in Toxic Twins: The Toxic Avenger V. Troma regular Lemmy, from Motorhead, is rumored to be appearing in the film, which stars Lloyd Kaufman's own daughter Charlotte Kaufman and Music and Lyrics's Suzi Lorraine. The storyline picks up directly after Citizen Toxie: The Toxic Avenger IV, and follows Toxie's adventures in fatherhood.

Suzi Lorraine recently released a couple of photos from the New York-based set, which give us a look at Toxie's twin sons.

In related news, director Lloyd Kaufman is rumored to be courting Jesse Eisenberg for the role of Melvin Junko in the upcoming remake. Apparently, Kaufman watched a bootleg Academy Award screener of The Social Network, and now feels that Jesse Eisenberg is the only actor currently working in Hollywood who could bring Melvin, Toxie's nerdy mop-wielding, pool-cleaning alter-ego, to life. He is rumored to have marveled at Jesse Eisenberg's uncanny resemblance to original Melvin Junko Mark Torgl and has joked that he will pull the rights to this upcoming remake if Jesse Eisenberg doesn't agree to the role.
