Wizards of the Coast, the world leader in hobby gaming, and a subsidiary of Hasbro, Inc., announced its newest offering, the Transformers 3D battle-card game. Scheduled for a June 2, 2007 release, the Transformers 3D battle-card game is a constructible card game that offers longtime Transformers fans as well as newcomers a fun, fast and easy-to-learn game playable right out of the pack.

Players build their favorite AUTOBOT and DECEPTICON characters using punch-out pieces from plastic cards and battle them against their opponents. Each character can be built in robot or vehicle form using the same set of pieces. The 26-figure set includes iconic characters from the upcoming live-action feature film due out on July 4th from DreamWorks Pictures and Paramount Pictures, in association with Hasbro, as well as other fan-favorites from Transformers history.

"With all of the excitement surrounding the upcoming movie and given our leadership in hobby gaming, we're thrilled to offer our players a new, innovative way to interact with this iconic property," said Greg Yahn, Director of Marketing, Wizards of the Coast.

With an MSRP of $3.99, each battle pack comes with four randomly inserted constructible cards from the set (enough to build two Transformers figures), two stat cards containing character and battle information, a token card, and complete game rules.

The game will be available from hobby retailers and mass retailers nationwide. Look for the Web site to go live in late April at www.wizards.com/transformers.
