Shooting has been under way for the last few weeks on Transformers: The Last Knight, under the direction of Michael Bay, as the cast continues to be rounded out. Earlier this month, we reported that Anthony Hopkins has joined the sequel in a mystery role, and now we have word that another actor has come aboard. Da Vinci's Demons star Laura Haddock revealed in a humorous video that she has officially come aboard Transformers: The Last Knight, although no details were given about who she's playing.

Earlier this morning, the actress posted a video on Twitter where she confirmed that she has joined the cast of the new Transformers movie. While it isn't known when she will start filming her scenes, the actress epressed her excitement to be acting alongside one of her "heroes." Here's what she had to say in her Twitter video below.

"I'm very proud to announce that I am going to be in the new Transformers movie, and acting opposite one of my all-time heroes. Massive in the 80s, living legend, some people describe him as having balls of steel. I can't believe I get to be part of his entourage, Optimus Prime. Oh, and there's this other guy, he's a pretty big deal, Mark Wahlberg."

Regardless of who she's playing, she joins a cast that includes Mark Wahlberg and new characters played by Isabela Moner and Jerod Carmichael. It was recently confirmed that Josh Duhamel, who played Lennox in the original Transformers trilogy, is coming back for this sequel, and there has also been talk that Tyrese Gibson could be back as Epps as well. We don't know how long production is scheduled to take place, so there could be many more casting announcements on the horizon.

Michael Bay is directing from a script by Art Marcum, Matt Holloway and Ken Nolan, who were part of the expansive Transformers writers room last summer. Paramount has set a June 23, 2017 release date for this sequel, putting it up against Sony Pictures' Rock That Body. Laura Haddock is perhaps best known for playing Lucrezia Donati on Starz's Da Vinci's Demons, and she also played Peter Quill's dying mother in the 2014 blockbuster Guardians of the Galaxy. Take a look at the actress' Twitter video below, and stay tuned for more on Transformers: The Last Knight.
