It's official! Transformers 5 is titled Transformers: The Last Knight. Paramount Pictures and Hasbro made the announcement earlier today. They then updated their official Instagram page with a video reveal of the title treatment which showcases Optimus Prime's iconic sword along with this message.

"Calling all #Autobots: Optimus Prime is ready for battle. Are you? #transformers"

The animated video announcement also gives us a look at an Optimus Prime transformed. The Last Knight will begin shooting in June of this year. Michael Bay is confirmed to return as director. Mark Wahlberg will reprise his role as Cade Yeager from Transformers: Age of Extinction.

Isabela Moner recently boarded the sequel as the female lead. She is best known for such indie movies as 100 Things to Do Before High School and Growing Up Fisher. The movie also landed Jerrod Carmichael from NBC's The Carmichael Show as the comedic relief this time out. Shooting will take place in Detroit, with various on-location shoots planned to take place throughout the world. Commissioner of the Michigan Film & Digital Media Office Jenell Leonard had this to say when production was first announced.

"Having one of the highest-profile film franchises created in Michigan is a major economic boost and a testament to the talent of the state's production community. The production and economic investment is now happening sooner rather than later, and obviously, the project is a certainty rather than merely a possibility."

Iron Man writers Art Marcum & Matt Holloway are joined by Black Hawk Down writer Ken Nolan on the screenplay. Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Don Murphy and Tom DeSanto return to produce this highly anticipated sequel. Transformers 5 will be followed by a Bumblebee spin-off movie in 2018, before Transformers 6 hits theaters in 2019. More updates on The Last Knight are expected soon.
