Did you need another reason to get excited about Star Wars: Rogue One? Because you have one. Or maybe it will just be another thing standing in the way between you and a new Star Wars movie, but regardless of how you see it, this is happening. Michael Bay himself has confirmed that the first teaser for Transformers: The Last Knight is arriving with Rogue One on December 16.

The official Transformers Twitter account recently posted a video featuring director Michael Bay, who has been promising the teaser for the movie will be coming soon. In the video, he finally confirms that the first trailer for Transformers: The Last Knight will be attached to Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Here is what he had to say.

"I want to tell you, because I've been reading you comments, the teaser is coming. December 16th on Star Wars. So look forward to it."

We recently got to see some choice bits of footage in an IMAX preview video that was released, celebrating the relationship between IMAX and the Transformers franchise as a whole. But after a whole lot of set videos, photos and weird, seemingly disjointed bits of information, this trailer for Transformers: The Last Knight can't come soon enough for fans. Even those of us who aren't necessarily diehard fans of the franchise or those who have lost faith, especially since recent installments have really taken a dip in quality, are at the least curious how this movie is going to come together. At this point, it sounds totally bananas.

Transformers: The Last Knight remains a big mystery in terms of actual plot details and story, but the things we do know and what has been confirmed make it seem like this is going to be absolutely insane, even by the already insane standards of a Transformers movie. We know that it will involve King Arthur, Merlin, Nazis and Winston Churchill, in addition to giant transforming alien robots. Yes, these are all real things that will be in this movie. How or why all of them are required for a Transformers movie remains to be seen, but hopefully, this first trailer will help shed some light on the mystery. Or maybe not. Either way, the trailer is coming.

This is the fifth movie in Transformers franchise, all of which of have been directed by Michael Bay. We will have to see if he can bounce back from Transformers: Age of Extinction and leave the franchise in a good place, or if this will just be another messy entry. Mark Wahlberg, Tyrese Gibson, John Turturro and Josh Duhamel are returning for Transformers: The Last Knight and they will be joined by Isabela Moner, Anthony Hopkins and franchise stable Peter Cullen as the voice of Optimus Prime. Transformers: The Last Knight is set to hit theaters on June 23, 2017.
