We have the first trailer for Transformers: War for Cybertron Trilogy - Earthrise. This is the second chapter in the trilogy, which kicked off over the summer with Siege. It sort of functioned like a movie, with its short run of six episodes that were a little less than a half-hour each. Netflix and Hasbro didn't make fans wait long for a look at where the action is heading, as this trailer dropped during Hasbro's Pulse Con. As we can see, the fallout from the first chapter's conclusion will be leading us to an action-filled follow-up with lots of synthy music, mercenaries and robot fights.

Minor spoilers ahead for those who haven't watched Siege yet. The trailer kicks off by briefly recounting the events of the first chapter, with the Allspark being destroyed by Optimus Prime. Megatron is musing about what happened as he and his loyal Decepticons are left to rot on Cybertron, which is all but dead now. From that point, the footage is loaded down with action, with lots of impressive, yet admittedly bleak, imagery. We are also introduced to Mercenary Autobots, who are seemingly operating in wild space far removed from their counterparts.

The first installment picked up in the final hours of the war for Cybertron, with the Autobots and Decepticons battling it out for the Allspark, which had the power to not only win the war, but change the fate of the planet for good. In Transformers: War for Cybertron Trilogy - Earthrise, with the Allspark gone, Megatron is forced to deal with the brutal reality of the situation as the Decepticons are trapped on a dying Cybertron. Meanwhile, Optimus Prime is lost in the darkest reaches of space. His team embarks on a desperate mission, unexpectedly running into the spacefaring Mercenaries.

Jake Foushee (Optimus Prime), Jason Marnocha (Megatron), Linsay Rousseau (Elita-1), Joe Zieja (Bumblebee), Frank Todaro (Starscream), Rafael Goldstein (Ratchet), Keith Silverstein (Jetfire), Todd Haberkorn (Shockwave, Red Alert), Edward Bosco (Ultra Magnus, Soundwave), Bill Rogers (Wheeljack), Sophia Isabella (Arcee), Brook Chalmers (Impactor), Shawn Hawkins (Mirage), Kaiser Johnson (Ironhide), Miles Luna (Teletraan I, Cliffjumper) and Mark Whitten (Sideswipe, Skywarp) make up the cast. The third entry in the trilogy is titled Kingdom. As had been heavily suspected, it will indeed bring Beast Wars back to the franchise for the first time in a very long time, with the spin-off series originally going off the air in 1999.

Siege, which dropped in July, was received incredibly well and currently boasts a 100 percent critical approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Elsewhere, several big screen projects are in development within the franchise. This includes Bumblebee 2, an animated Transformers feature, another new live-action movie and a Best Wars project. But since none of those seem to be all that close to production, this should help to fill the void. Transformers: War for Cybertron Trilogy - Earthrise does not yet have a release date set but is said to be coming soon to the Netflix streaming service. Be sure to check out the new trailer for yourself.
