Kevin Bacon has officially wrapped production on the Tremors pilot that he is shooting for SYFY. The show has been shooting in New Mexico, out in the desert, where Bacon's Valentine McKee has been forced to fight deadly Graboids once again. The actor shared a final set photo before departing. And he had these words to offer as a good-bye.

"So long to NM. Had an amazing time shooting this pilot. Hope I can keep walking in these boots #Tremors"

It sounds like Kevin Bacon had a good time. And from the photo, we get a sense of the fallen hero that Valentine has become. He was once praised for his heroic deeds, as seen in the 1990 classic. They even made a couple of different bobble heads based on his likeness. But no one wants them any more as he's sunk into deep depression. Now, he's selling off his precious memorabilia. The new series will air on SYFY, which actually aired a TV show based on the iconic franchise back in 2003, which only ran for one season, and did not include Kevin Bacon. The network has released this official synopsis for the new show.

"Tremors will take fans of the acclaimed 1990 film back to Perfection, Nev., where, 25 years after Valentine McKee, played by Kevin Bacon, defeated the Graboids, the man who once seemed destined for greatness is anything but. He's a small-town hero whose glory days faded away with the monsters he braved and whose family moved on when he couldn't let go of the past. And yet McKee's hoping that everything's about to change. His grown daughter coming to visit on the heels of her graduation could signal a permanent homecoming. But no sooner than she arrives, strange and terrifying events make it clear the town is in danger. Led by McKee, the gang from Perfection begins to uncover the spine-chilling truth of what's hunting them. With the future looking darker than ever, these small-town heroes must shake off the dust of years to see what they're made of."

Bacon hasn't reprised his role as Valentine McKee in any of the Tremors sequels. SyFy will tie the show directly into the series. Tremors 6 is also coming in May of 2018, but will not connect to this mini-series. Michael Gross will continue playing Burt Gummer on the movie side of things. For now, he won't crossover into the TV show. But that is a possibility if things go well, and Tremors the TV show extends into a second season. Michael Gross said this when asked about a potential reunion between McKee and Gummer.

"This is a story from June, 2017, but for Tremors fans who have been asking, 'Will Kevin Bacon return to do the films?' or 'Is your Burt Gummer character going to be in Kevin's series?' I think we can say with a good deal of certainty that the answer to both questions is 'no.' The series is currently shooting in and around Albuquerque, New Mexico, and I have no other details.

Valentine's daughter will be introduced in this new series, and she is played by Emily Tremaine. John Ellison Conlee stars as Harlan Maylor, Valentine McKee's best friend whose obsession with the Graboids has taken a harsh toll on his life. P.J. Byrne has come aboard to play Melvin, who survived the original Graboid attack and went on to become a real estate developer. The cast is rounded out by Hunter Parrish, Ebonee Noel, Brandon Jay McLaren and Haley Tju.
