Composer Trent Reznor confirmed on his Twitter account that he and his partner Atticus Ross will be composing the score for director David Fincher's Gone Girl.

The announcement doesn't come as a major surprise, since Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross provided the score for David Fincher's last two films, The Social Network and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. They won the Academy Award for Best Score for their work on The Social Network, and the duo also earned a Golden Globe nomination for their The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo score.

Trent Reznor's Nine Inch Nails song "Closer" was also used on David Fincher's Seven.

Gone Girl stars Ben Affleck as Nick Dunne, whose wife Amy (Rosamund Pike) inexplicably disappears on their fifth wedding anniversary. Neil Patrick Harris, Tyler Perry and Casey Wilson co-star in this adaptation of Gillian Flynn's novel, arriving in theaters October 4.
