Tron: Legacy opened in select theaters last night and, according to The Hollywood Reporter, the Disney sci-fi saga took in $3.5 million from those midnight screenings.

The Joseph Kosinski sequel also broke the IMAX midnight screening record earning $1 million, or 25%, of its midnight grosses from select IMAX theaters. Tron: Legacy opened on 228 IMAX screens last night, although a snowstorm forced several Southeastern locations to close due to the weather.
