It only took Twilight a week to become the best-selling DVD of 2009. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Twilight has sold 5.6 million DVD's in just over a week of release, making it the best-selling title of 2009 to date.

The popular vampire film has barely surpassed Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa for the crown, which has sold 5.3 million units since its release on February 6. Both releases came on non-traditional release dates, with Twilight hitting the shelves on a Saturday and Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa on a Friday, as opposed to the traditional Tuesday DVD release date.

Twilight's Blu-ray sales have only accounted for 3% of the total sales figures, although the BD is currently only being sold at Target and Best Buy stores until May 5.
