In a story from Variety, Twisted Pictures', the production entity behind the Saw franchise -- are remaking Troma Films' Mother's Day.

Darren Lynn Bousman (Saw II) will be directing this project.

Brett Ratner (Rush Hour) and Jay Stern will also produce via their Rat Entertainment banner.

The film will look at a crazy mother who leads her family in terrorizing the people that live in their new home.

Scott Milam wrote the screenplay.

"It's a wild, crazy, insane, macabre ride, and that's what's so exciting about this project," Bousman said of the original film.

LightTower Entertainment is financing this redo. The plan is to shoot the film this summer and have it ready for Mother's Day 2010.
