Ty Burrell plays Dr. Leonard Samson, psychologist to the superheroes, in The Incredible Hulk, and the actor now opens up to Wizard Universe about what we can expect to see from the character in his debut film appearance.

The comic-book version of Samson gained super-strength from a gamma radiation accident, and while Burrell wouldn't reveal definitively whether or not Samson will gain his powers (or trademark green hair) in this film, he would reveal some details about what we can expect from the character. In the film, when we meet Samson, he's romantically involved with Betty Ross (Bruce Banner's ex-girlfriend, played by Liv Tyler). Asked to describe Samson, Burrell said "He's very similar to the comics. Here's a guy who's perfectly smart and very well intended. But he has a blind spot because of that hubris. He feels like he can help everybody through [psychology]. He really believes he's the smartest person in the room, and feels he can use that to help people. Yet that's also his weakness."

Burrell also says that the film lays the ground-work for return appearances by Dr. Samson in any future Hulk movies. "The stuff we can look forward to in the sequel is as complicated as the comics," Burrell says. "Edward (Norton) has really laid fertile soil for a friendship-slash-enemy situation."
