Filmmaker Tyler Perry has just announced several cast members for his upcoming film during the premiere of his latest film. Black Voices spoke with filmmaker Tyler Perry on the red carpet premiere for his new film Why Did I Get Married Too? and he revealed that Janet Jackson, Mariah Carey, Whoopi Goldberg, Phylicia Rashad, Jurnee Smollett, Kimberly Elise, Kerry Washington, and Macy Gray will star in his new film For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow Is Enuf.

Perry is adapting the film from the 1975 play of the same name by Ntozake Shange, which featured several nameless female characters who recited poems on various topics including love, rape and abortion.

The film was said to start shooting this June in New York City. Lionsgate has already set a January 14, 2011 release date for the film.
