Nia Long has joined the cast of Tyler Perry's new drama Single Mom's Club as one of the four female leads. Wendi McLendon-Covey and Zulay Henao also star, with the fourth lead yet to be cast.

The story centers on four very different single mothers, who are forced to come together after an incident at their children's school. They create a support group where they discuss the obstacles of motherhood, and try to overcome their own challenges. Nia Long will play one of the mothers, Lydia, alongside Wendi McLendon-Covey as Jan and Zulay Henao as Esperanza.

Tyler Perry will direct from his own screenplay, and he will also star in an unspecified role. Tyler Perry is also producing with Ozzie Areu and Matt Moore.

Production is scheduled to begin at the end of November in Atlanta. We reported last month that Lionsgate will distribute.
