Randall Park, the star who appeared in WandaVision last year, has joined Will Ferrell, Jamie Foxx, and Will Forte in Strays. The movie is a live-action/CGI hybrid being directed by Josh Greenbaum. It is a movie about dogs who have had enough of owners that do not treat them right.

The script was written by Dan Perrault as Erik Feig’s Picturestart initially developed Strays. Picturestart approached Greenbaum and Louis Leterrier as well as Phil Lord and Chris Miller. All of which are now acting as producers, as well as Lord Miller president of film Aditya Sood.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, it looks as of now Park’s character details are being kept a secret, for the time being. He could be playing a dog, another animal, or a human, but, we will have to wait for the trailer or when the movie gets a little closer. The story follows an abandoned dog who teams up with other strays to get revenge on his former owner. Ferrell will be playing the role of the abandoned dog while Jamie Foxx is one of the other dogs who befriends him. Forte is playing the villain human owner whom they are going after. Strays is scheduled for a June 9th theatrical release, and the film will blend live action with the CGI canines.

What's Next for Randall Park?

WandaVision Favorite Randall Park Will Make His Directorial Debut with Shortcomings Adaptation

We will see Park next be as he is reprising his role of scientist Dr. Stephen Shin in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom and is shooting a starring role in Netflix’ comedy series Blockbuster, set in the last Blockbuster Video store in America. He also recently lent his voice to Netflix’s animated comedy series, Human Resources. This is not the first time that Ferrell and Park have worked together, as they had a brief role in Ferrell in the 2017 comedy The House. Most will recognize Park as Agent Jimmy Woo from Marvel projects Ant-Man and the Wasp and WandaVision. He also appeared in Netflix comedy Always Be My Maybe opposite Ali Wong.

Strays will also mark a re-teaming for Park and Strays's director, as Greenbaum who oversaw several episodes of ABC comedy Fresh Off the Boat. Episodes of New Girl, Single Parents, and Bless This Mess also serve as further credentials in Greenbaum's directing resume. No word on a trailer just yet. We also don't have official word if Park will return to the MCU in the next Ant-Man installment, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania which is set to release July 28th, 2023. Park in the past has been very open and excited about the idea of returning into the MCU in some fashion. Many fans fell in love with his character and the chemistry he had on WandaVision with Kat Dennings' character Darcy Lewis. Park in a new movie with that all-star casting will most likely draw the same fans into the world of dogs.

Strays is scheduled to be released on June 9, 2023, by Universal Pictures.
