Universal Pictures is in talks to develop a sequel to Daniel Espinosa's action-thriller Safe House.

The original starred Ryan Reynolds as a young CIA agent, who is looking after a South African safe house. Shortly after the criminal/rogue agent Tobin Frost (Denzel Washington) arrives, the facility is attacked by a group of mercenaries. The two escape from the hostile situation to track down those who organized the attack against the stronghold.

Although no casting details have been confirmed, we do know that the original movie's writer David Guggenheim will be providing the screenplay. Scott Stuber is on board to produce.

No production schedule has been released for this film.
