Universal Pictures has picked up the rights to new comedy from Sacha Baron Cohen, Bruno.

The offer was more than $42 million for worldwide rights to the film, according to The Hollywood Reporter. It will follow Cohen's other alter ego, Bruno, a gay fashionista from Austria, who fancies himself as 'the voice of Austrian youth TV.' In his appearances on Da Ali G Show, the character sashayed from New York Fashion Week to Miami nightclubs.

No director is on board for Bruno, which is set to start shooting next summer.
