Universal has ponied up six figures for the film rights to an upcoming Viper Comics graphic novel titled Villains, and hired Matt Jennison and Brent Strickland to write the adaptation.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Adam Cogan and Ryan Cody created the graphic novel that puts super bad guys center stage. The plot, told from the bad guy's perspective, follows a young man who is failing at life and finds purpose when he meets a Svengali-style villain who takes him under his wing.
