Oldboy: According to Variety, helmer Justin Lin and a team of writers have climbed aboard Universal Pictures' remake of the South Korean pic Oldboy.

Lin, best known for directing the MTV Films/Paramount Classics 2002 release Better Luck Tomorrow, will adapt the pic with "Tomorrow" co-scribes Ernesto Foronda and Fabian Marquez.

Directed by Park Chan-wook, original "Oldboy" follows a man in his mid-30s who has been kidnapped by unknown captors and held in a room for years. On the 15th anniversary of his capture, he's knocked out and awakens in the middle of a city. Plot centers on his search to find out who kidnapped him, who's killed his family while he was away, and why.
