Universal Pictures has acquired first-time screenwriter Ben Frahm's Dr. Sensitive for Shady Acres to produce as a potential directing vehicle for Tom Shadyac, according to Variety.
The comedy centers on the doctor with the world's worst bedside manner who undergoes a transformative experience that makes him overly empathetic.
Shadyac and Michael Bostick are producing alongside Underground Films' Nick Osborne.
Prior to the sale, Frahm was a middle school teacher for autistic children.
