Universal Pictures and Imagine Entertainment are developing a remake of the 1993 Italian film La scorta, setting Asger Leth (Ghosts of Cite Soleil) to direct and Peter Craig to write the screenplay, according to Variety.

The original film told the story of four policemen assigned to guard a special prosecutor trying to bring mob bosses to justice. His predecessor was blown away along with a bodyguard. The four guards are conflicted about their jobs and frustrated as they watch government insiders thwart the lawman at every turn.

The Danish-born Leth is making his American directorial debut.
