Get the camera and the fake blood ready because Universal Studios wants to see some short horror films! Universal Studios Hollywood has announced a short film competition for its Halloween Horror Nights celebration, which will take place in October.

The theme for the contest will be "Where Nightmares Come Alive" and the winning filmmaker will receive $1,000, four tickets to the Halloween Horror Nights event and the film will be shown at the opening night festivities, "The Eyegore Awards."

The films will be judged by three horror heavyweights in director Eli Roth, actor Bill Moseley and director Don Mancini. The finalists for the contest will be announced on September 10, where the public can vote for the winner online.
