After being indefinitely delayed back in April 2013, New Line Cinema is moving forward with their Vacation reboot once again, as Chris Hemsworth and Charlie Day enter negotiations to co-star.

Ed Helms stars as Rusty Griswold, the adult son of Chevy Chase's Clark Griswold from the original Vacation movies. The story follows Rusty and his wife (Christina Applegate) going on their first family road trip vacation.

Chris Hemsworth is portraying the boyfriend of Rusty's sister Audrey, who has not been cast yet, while Charlie Day is portraying a river raft touring guide. We reported in March 2013 that Chevy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo will reprise their roles as Clark and Ellen Grisworld, Rusty's parents, but it isn't clear if they are still coming back.

While it isn't known exactly when production will begin, Chris Hemsworth is said to shoot this project first, before moving on to shoot Universal's The Huntsman in early 2015.

John Francis Daley and Jonathan M. Goldstein will make their directorial debuts from their own script. The project was initially delayed due to issues with the script, but New Line is now moving ahead with their new draft of the screenplay. David Dobkin is producing through his David Dobkin Productions company.

Chris Hemsworth will next be seen in a number of upcoming projects, such as Blackhat, Heart of the Sea and Avengers: Age of Ultron, all slated to debut in the first half of 2015. Charlie Day will next be seen in the New Line comedy sequel Horrible Bosses 2.
