New Line Cinema is delaying production on the Vacation reboot, which was in pre-production for an Atlanta shoot this July. While one source indicates the delay may only be a few months long, another insider claims that the start of principal photography may be pushed until late this year.

The Incredible Burt Wonderstone writers John Francis Daley and Jonathan M. Goldstein are making their directorial debut from their own screenplay. Sources claim that creative differences are to blame for the delay, with some wanting to make this a broader PG-13 movie, while others want an R-rated comedy, like the original Vacation.

Here's what John Francis Daley had to say about the story for his comedy remake, in our exclusive interview from March.

"Rusty, because he so fondly remembers Wally World as this way of bringing a family together, he decides to take his family to Wally World. He's grown up now, he has a wife and kids."

Ed Helms and Christina Applegate are attached to star as Rusty Griswold and his wife. Chevy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo were confirmed last month to return as Clark Griswold and Ellen Grisworld from the original franchise, in cameo roles.
